About Wing Masters Express

Wing Masters Express is a delivery-focused food business serving wings, smash burgers, and fries. Rather than relying on third-party delivery apps and their commissions, WME needed its own ordering, kitchen, and delivery system — one built to run the full operation under its own brand.

One WordPress Backend, Three Connected Apps

WME runs on a single WordPress REST API backend serving three purpose-built applications, each wrapped in a native iOS/Android shell and published to the App Store and Google Play:

Real-Time, Not Just "Refresh to Check"

Food delivery lives or dies on real-time updates — a kitchen that doesn’t know about a new order the second it’s placed is a kitchen that’s already behind. We built two dedicated Node.js WebSocket servers to push order updates instantly across all three apps, with heartbeat and reconnection logic to keep every connection reliable, even under real restaurant network conditions.

A Checkout Built for the Job, Not Bent to Fit a Plugin

WME doesn’t run on WooCommerce. With three connected apps needing to stay in sync in real time, a standard plugin-based checkout couldn’t keep up — so we built a fully custom checkout and order-management system from scratch, designed specifically for a multi-app, real-time architecture. Payments run through Stripe, including handling declined payments and reconciling failed orders automatically.

Built to Handle What Real Restaurants Actually Deal With

Beyond the core ordering flow, WME needed to solve problems that only show up under real production use:

Automatic thermal printer ticket printing in the kitchen
Geolocation-based delivery distance calculations
Timezone-aware order and reporting logic
Diagnosed and resolved a production malware intrusion, hardening the platform against it
Custom plugins built specifically for WME's operations, including QR-based tools and automated PDF generation
